SOL-Aligned School Programs -- 2012
Henricus Historical Park, a living history venue, features educational programs relating to Colonial and Indian life of 17th century Virginia and of the Civil War era along the James River. All school programs, for grades Pre-K – 12th are multi-curricular and aligned with the Virginia Standard of Learning Objectives (SOLs). One or more programs can provide information sharing and age-appropriate hands-on, interactive and team-building group activities. We also provide Outreach programs at your school. Our programs are perfect additions to the curriculums for: Public Schools, Private Schools, Home Schools, After School, Gifted & Talented and Summer School Programs, and programs and Camps for Daycare Centers and Scouts. Libraries, clubs and organizations also enjoy our programs!
On-site Programs use our re-created Powhatan Indian site of Arrohateck and the Citie of Henricus to interpret the environmental resources, history, technology, economics and politics of these two 17th century cultures as they lived side by side on Virginia’s James River. To enhance your learning objectives, multiple programs may be booked – at a discounted rate -- to run consecutively.
Outreach Programs bring our Educators to your school to provide enhanced curriculum relating to mapping skills, cultural interaction and early events in American history.
