All educational programs are aligned with age- and curriculum-appropriate Virginia SOLs.  Please see each program description for specifics.

Year of Henricus – 400th Anniversary

JOIN HENRICUS HISTORICAL PARK for the commemoration of the 400th year of the founding of the Citie of Henricus.

From September 2010 – October 2011, Henricus will provide educational Anniversary Programming.  All educational programs have been revised and updated.  New programs celebrate Henricus Firsts:   the founding of the first English hospital (Mt. Malady) and the first chartered College in North America; tobacco as Virginia’s original cash crop; the beginnings of America’s form of representative government. 

Exciting additions to programs and new educational publications, films and traveling exhibits can be a part of your experience when you book a program at the Henricus Historical Park during our Year of Henricus – 400 th Anniversary!

• A 14-day advanced reservation is required.
• Multiple topic programs can be run concurrently.  A discounted program fee is available for second or third topic programs. 

• To guarantee your program date(s), a principal-signed contract or a non-refundable $20 per day booked deposit, is required.

• Final payment is due upon arrival to on-site or at outreach programs.

• Programs are not cancelled due to inclement weather (unless the school or field trips are cancelled by the District) – indoor versions are available in the Park’s large classrooms.  They can be rescheduled only if other dates are available. 

• Attendance numbers must be updated 24 hours prior to the scheduled program.  Fees will be based upon the most recent number registered.

• Minimum group size:  10 students.
• Outreach programs will be run separately by classroom (< 30 children).  If several classes are combined, an Assembly Program Fee will be charged.

Fees:

On Site Programs:

• $6 per child per program.  Fees to add a second or third program are $4 per child per program.

• One adult is required for every 10 students and will be admitted free-of-charge.

• The fee for additional adults is $7 per person.  Non class-related children will be charged $5 per child (over the age of 3). 

Outreach Programs:

• $100 for the first session of each program/class and $80 for each additional session.  Each session can consist of no more than 30 students.

Assembly Programs:

• $250 for the first Assembly; $150 for each additional Assembly.

Voyage to Virginia - Two-Museum Program

• $10 per student.

• $7 per additional adults.
